Stock Car Steel Partners with Michael Weaver and Daisy Dooks for the Concord Speedway 2012 Arena Car Season

Mooresville-based Stock Car Steel & Aluminum has come on board the #81 Arena Car of Michael Weaver for the 2012 Arena Car season at Concord Speedway. With additional support from primary sponsor, Daisy Dooks Gentlemen’s Club and associate sponsor, Motivated Eyewear, the Farbo Motorsports entry is ready to hit the track with Weaver behind the wheel.

While the primary sponsor is a gentlemen’s club, and the associate sponsor is a metal supplier, one might think that these are two very different companies on the same race car. However, there is a connection, and it relates to Stock Car Steel & Aluminum’s (SCSA’s) marketing tactics.

Stock Car Steel & Aluminum (SCSA) is locally known for its strong relationships with NASCAR; being the primary metals supplier to almost every top-level racing team in the area. Within this racing community, SCSA has also become well-known for its calendar, which proudly displays beautiful bikini-clad women alongside SCSA’s product line.

“Our yearly calendar is a huge hit with the guys at the race shops,” says Chase Forbes, a marketing representative for SCSA. “We do our own photo shoots on-site and hire gorgeous models to pose all around our warehouse. The fact that Daisy Dooks Gentlemen’s Club is one of the sponsors on the car goes right along with our brand, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share the kind of attention that this partnership is going to bring this year.”

"We are extremely excited to be paired up with Stock Car Steel and Aluminum, Inc., the World Famous Daisy Dooks Gentleman's Club, Motivated Eyewear and Farbo Motorsports for the 2012 Arena Car series at Concord Speedway," said Michael Weaver, driver of the #81 Arena Car and U.S. Legends Car. "I would just like to thank my sponsors, my team and everyone else who has pitched in to put this deal together. We'll see you in victory lane!"

Look for the #81 Arena Car of Michael Weaver as he competes in the weekly racing series at Concord Speedway, which runs every Friday until late September.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jason White Adds Sponsor for NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona

Daytona, FL -February 23, 2012

This Friday marks the return of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Daytona, and Jason White will have Stock Car Steel & Aluminum and SRI as associate sponsors to his #23 Gunbroker.com Ford F-Series. Stock Car Steel & Aluminum and SRI (Supplies for Racing and Industry) are showing their appreciation of the racing industry by associating with White and the GB Racing organization. Companies such as Stock Car Steel /SRI rarely sponsor race teams because of their well-established connection with the racing industry. However, when the opportunity arose, White and the owner of Stock Car Steel/SRI, Greg Fornelli, struck a deal with a handshake.

The Mooresville-based companies of Stock Car Steel/SRI have built their businesses around motorsports. Stock Car Steel & Aluminum provides raw metal materials to nearly all of the NASCAR teams, and SRI does the same with the nuts-and-bolts aspect of race car construction. “Everything you need to build a race car from scratch comes out of our warehouses,” states Fornelli. “Seeing our logos on Jason’s truck really puts things into perspective. I look at that beautiful truck and think, ‘That body was once a piece of raw sheet metal sitting on our shelf, but look at it now!’”

The friendship between Fornelli and White began when White became a loyal customer to both of Fornelli’s companies. “As long as I can remember, I’ve bought just about everything from Stock Car Steel and SRI. Their delivery trucks keep my truck on the track, and it’s great to have their logos onboard,” says White.

Racing fans can now buy raw metal from Stock Car Steel & Aluminum online, as well as supplies for their garage from SRI. www.stockcarsteel.com and www.sri-supplies.com both provide a unique opportunity for anyone with a need for a well-stocked garage or workshop. Fornelli says “It’s cool to think that somebody can order something from us, and it could’ve just as easily been used on their favorite driver’s race car.”

SRI – Supplies for Racing & Industry was founded in Concord, NC in 1997. It was purchased and incorporated in April of 2002 by Greg Fornelli. Fornelli, who also owns Stock Car Steel & Aluminum, moved the business to Mooresville, NC where the two businesses currently share a distribution facility. SRI has everything from Military Spec fasteners to Bondo. Their product line is based on the needs of race shop personnel working in Fab Shops, Body Shops, Chassis Shops and Engine Shops.

Stock Car Steel & Aluminum, Inc. Sponsors 08 Car at Track That Beats-up Bodies

Mooresville, NC (August 20, 2007) – In a tribute to Bristol Motor Speedway, the short-track famous for it’s exciting beating and banging, Stock Car Steel & Aluminum, a metal service center specializing in the NASCAR market, is sponsoring Jason White’s #08 NASCAR Busch series car. The sponsorship makes perfect sense; a Bristol race always means a lot of cautions and that always means a lot of sheet metal sales for the company on Mondays.

Larry McReynolds, a racing analyst on Fox Sports, says “Greg (Fornelli, the owner of SCSA) always jokes that his favorite words in NASCAR are when we yell ‘There’s trouble in turn 2!!!’ well, we tend to say those words a lot at Bristol. I would say that track is good for his business.”

The SCSA car will be piloted by driver Jason White. White drives for the Pennington Motorsports team and he currently competes in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, along with running a partial Busch Series schedule. White and SCSA will debut their car and paint scheme when practice starts Thursday at 1:00pm for Food City 250. The Food City 250 NASCAR Busch Series race will start at 8:00pm on Friday night, August 24 on ESPN 2.

“We’re pleased to sponsor Pennington Motorsports, a first-class race team,” said Greg Fornelli, President and CEO of Stock Car Steel and Aluminum and SRI – Supplies for Racing & Industry. “This sponsorship enables us to leverage our brand with a well-known team and race track.” Headquartered in Mooresville, NC, Stock Car Steel and Aluminum supplies every type of raw material a race team might need to build a race car, including carbon steel, aluminum, chrome moly, and stainless steel. Their inventory includes tubing, sheets, bars and plates. Stock Car Steel’s sister company, SRI – Supplies for Racing & Industry, is a distributor of supplies from well respected names, ranging from 3M, POP brand rivets, and Dewalt tools. SRI specializes in products such as adhesives, abrasives, fasteners, cutting tools, etc. They have recently launched an extensive e-commerce web site; www.sri-supplies.com.
